THE SHOWERS FAMILY GROUP BEGINS 2016 WITH A LOT TO SING ABOUT!

Beloved Louisiana-based siblings The Showers step into 2016 with a lot to sing about as they announce a new distribution deal with MRI Records, distributed through RED Distribution. The Showers was also recently named Group of the Year during the NOLA Gospel Awards. Moreover, the group was just added to the artist lineup of the prestigious New Orleans Jazz Festival and will attend the Stellar Gospel Music Awards for the first time as nominees in the Traditional Group/Duo of the Year category.

The Showers will perform Stellar Awards weekend at The Radio Announcer’s Guild Awards and the Thursday Night All-White Party. Through the new distribution deal, the self-titled deluxe album – The Showers Family Group – will be re-released both digitally and physically. The project was available last year as a digital release only.

Titus Showers, the lead singer and only male of the ensemble, says: “Truly we thank God for his many blessings! My family and I grew up not having much, yet my parents remain faithful to God and always believed that better was coming. Now God is truly blessing us beyond measure. We thanked Him for the few things, and now he’s blessing us with many. Indeed, He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. This gift that God has given us we don’t take it lightly. We cherish it, we respect it, and we will always use it for God’s glory.

There aren’t many groups in today’s Gospel music landscape, let alone family groups. The Showers, an ensemble of six sisters and their lead-singing brother, add a refreshing punch to the Gospel music industry. The Showers have delighted airwaves, stages and churches around the country and have been a formidable presence since the release of their first project in 2009. Without major distribution or backing, the group has amassed a Top-15 single (“Better”) and appeared on such influential platforms as Bobby Jones Gospel, The Essence Music Festival and Sirius Satellite Radio.
